Arcadia are leaders in lighting technology for aquariums, reptiles and birds and we are delighted to supply their range. T8 Fluorescent tubes are the original sizes and output tubes. T5 are the newer, high output, small diameter and different length tubes. Compact tubes are the short U shaped tubes. Metal Halide bulbs provide extreme levels of light. Fluorescent T8 LightTubesAquarium fluorescent tubes are available in two diameters, the reference title of T8 or T5 refers to the number of eighths of an inch in the tube diameter, T8 having eight eighths is one inch in diameter whilst the thinner T5 is five eighths in diameter. The tube wattage is dependant on its length so simply replacing with the same length and diameter tube will ensure compatibility. There may be a small variance of wattages between different manufacturers. Fluorescent tubes reduce output as they are used and although will continue to give light, in such lighting critical situations as aquariums and terrariums where a tube has been selected for its benefit to livestock or plants it is essential that they are replaced annually to maintain performance.
