BiOrb Aquariums 30biOrb 30 is available in three forms, aquarium with filtration or with the addition of a halogen light or with a light and heater for tropical fish. biOrb combines the looks of a traditional fish bowl with the performance of a 'hi-tech' aquarium. The 30 litre fish bowl incorporates a clever and easy to change filtration system that has been designed to provide maximum benefits to both fish and fish keeper. biOrb's stylish, globe shaped design will prove an eye-catching feature in any location. This together with its low maintenance and strong, safe construction will appeal to all age groups in both private and business sectors. The globe is manufactured from Plexiglas acrylic and because of its larger water capacity, biOrb provides fish with approximately ten times more space than a traditional bowl. The biOrb filter system - Bubbles are created by the air pump. The air pump forces air through the base of the aquarium creating air bubbles which rise up through the bubble tube. When the bubbles hit the surface, oxygen is released into the water. Surface agitation also allows carbon dioxide to escape out of the water. This helps force water down through the filter allowing the fish to breathe and beneficial bacteria to do their job, while the plants breathe at night. The sponge and fine mesh provide mechanical filtration, working like a waste bin, by trapping solid particles of waste and debris keeping them out of the water. The activated carbon and resins provide chemical filtration by absorbing some nitrate, phosphate and other chemicals creating clear, colourless water. The ceramic rocks at the base of the biOrb provide an ideal home for filter bacteria to live, multiply and work removing toxic ammonia and nitrite from the water. |
