Our tests suggest that the AquaBeam 600's will light an aquarium comfortably to a depth of 30 inches and possibly more, the width spread for the beams is just over 20cm so for wider aquariums use the tiles or a pair of 600 strips front and rear. The 1000 Tiles will light a 45cm square to a similar depth. A three foot long aquarium would need two tiles, a five foot at least three, or a mixture of tiles and strips which is very effective.
The Control unit can operate a single AquaBeam or two, it is simply needed to offer the dimming and moonlight timed function. You can use the AquaBeam 600 LED strips or the 1000 Tiles with or without the control unit. Note that moonlight is simply sun light bounced off the moon, it is the same colour spectrum as daylight, just dimmer.
