Juwel Standard Filter Media Kits

Juwel aquarium filter media replacement set, the filter media requires replacing to ensure that the filter is working efficiently, keeping the water clean and sparkling in appearance and maintaining the best environment for the livestock and plants.

Seapets have created this service kit to include all you need to give your Juwel Standard filter, Bioflow 6, the overhaul that is recommended by Juwel to be carried out every three months. This is for the average community aquarium, if you have a crowded aquarium or large fish you may need to change media more often, or a little less if they are well behaved, clean fish!

The media supplied in this kit is for the regular overhaul to the filter and will last three months. Over the course of a full year you should use one annual media kit followed by three quarterly media kits.

Included in the three month kit are;
Two packs of five Pre-filter pads, Change approximately weekly to prevent large particles entering the blue biological sponges
Two packs of two Carbon sponges, change monthly, absorbs chemicals.
One pack of Nitrate sponge, change 3 monthly, absorbs nitrates.
One Pack of Coarse sponge, change 3 monthly, first step in biological filtration.

Please remember that the Coarse Blue Sponge and the Cirax contains bacteria colonies that keep your aquarium biologically filtered. Protect them when changing the filter media. Do not wash these out. When doing the annual change replace a little of the old Cirax in the filter to seed the bacteria colony again.
