Fluval Edge Pre Filter Sponge

You really have to have this sponge on if you have small fish or snake type fish. Every day I had to rescue fish from the filter before I got this sponge. It should really come with the starter kit.

The pre-filter sponge attaches to the suction tube in the tank itself preventing large debris getting stuck in the internal filter and small fish becoming trapped (eg: fry).
The only downfall of this product is that large debris mostly from plants will float around the tank; however it’s better in the tank than the filter.
The use of plastic plants will avoid this problem.
