TetraAqua SafeStart - The start of a successful aquarium logo

Proven technology that speaks for itself:

  • Enables instant introduction of fishsafestart
  • Immediate activation of the biological filter, thus preventing New Tank Syndrome
  • Reduces and controls dangerous ammonia and nitrite

First experiences of keeping fish can often be negative, this is because it can take weeks to slowly add fish and often ammonia and nitrite reach levels that cause further problems - this is known as ‘New Tank Syndrome'. TetraAqua® SafeStart aims to make it easier and more enjoyable for new aquariums to be set up. Cycling the aquarium for many weeks is no longer necessary and a significant number of fish can be introduced immediately without any risk, this means that setting up an aquarium; especially from a beginners point of view, becomes a much more positive experience. TetraAqua® SafeStart is also beneficial to aquariums when used after filter maintenance, water changes, and other activities that may lead to bacterial loss.

tetrasafeWhat does TetraAqua® SafeStart do?

Normally, when setting up an aquarium, it takes time to introduce the fish (sometimes weeks). This is because the filter inside the aquarium needs to ‘mature' in order to deal with harmful ammonia, produced by the fish, and nitrite. High levels of these substances are toxic to fish - an effect known as new tank syndrome.

TetraAqua® SafeStart adds the beneficial bacteria that the filter needs to become active. By dealing effectively with ammonia and nitrite, fish can be added immediately, which can help new tank syndrome be avoided.

Setting up an aquarium using TetraAqua® SafeStart

Once your aquarium is set up with gravel, plants and your choice of ornaments, switch on the filter and, if you have decided to keep tetragraphtropical fish, the heater. Make sure you treat the tap water in the aquarium with TetraAqua® AquaSafe to remove chlorine and make it safe for your fish. Once the water temperature has reached the correct level (it should be at a minimum of 20oC add TetraAqua® SafeStart. A 50ml bottle contains enough for a 60 aquarium; 100ml treats 120 litres and so on.  After that just add fish.

TetraAqua® SafeStart is a revolution in fish keep and has been produced as a result of years of research. All previous thinking has focused on the species of bacteria called nitrosomonas and nitrobacter. However research had found that Ammonia is only decomposed by bacteria of the nitorsospira and nitrosomonas species, whilst nitorspira reduces nitrite in an aquarium. It is these latest findings in micro-biology that have made TetraAqua® SafeStart possible.
