PugHere at Seapets we love every breed of dog, from the large to the small, from the energetic to the downright lazy. Recently the figures for the most popular dogs of 2010 have been released, calculated on the number of breeds registered with the Kennel Club. As you would expect the list contains the usual suspects, but there are some surprises.

Most notable is the inclusion of the Pug, a small breed that has been heavily popularised by celebrities and whilst there aren’t many other breeds of toy dog within the top ten, according to the Kennel Club there has been a considerable increase in their number, largely attributable to the influence of celebrities and popular culture. Conversely, an adult dog does not require the same nutritional qualities in its food; if they are fed puppy food they can become overweight.
